The BCCI Has Still Not Paid The Indian Women Cricketers The Money Of World T20

The BCCI’s approach to the women team and cricketers is not good. After the salary comparison news of women and men cricket players, this news of BCCI not paying the women cricket their dues of World T20, which was played last year in 2020 March, will upset the Indian women cricket followers.

The Indian women team had played the final of Women’s World T20 against Australia in March 2020. That match was played in front of the record crowd at MCG – Melbourne Cricket Ground.

The Aussie women’s team won the T20 competition, and the Indian team was the runner ups of that T20 event. But even after more than 14 months, the women cricket players of India have not got their dues of that ICC mega T20 event.

The UK Daily and Telegraph reports state that Australia, the winners of that event, got their share of the money after the tournament. England, the semi-finalist of the World T20, also got their money after the two months of this ICC event. But the Indian women cricket players haven’t got the money even after 14 months.

The BCCI members say that the International Cricket Council had only paid them the amount in November 2020. The mainboard was not even for the communications, which is why the BCCI hasn’t paid the money to the Women cricket players of India till now.

The Indian Board had a tax dispute with the ICC, and if that money were paid to the women cricketers, they would have paid double tax on that. So the objective of the BCCI is to pay all the money to the women cricketers and save the double taxation on that amount.

The International Cricket Council is deducting the TDS of that amount. Due to that, the Indian Women cricket players will take a hit of fifty thousand to sixty thousand US Dollars. So BCCI is looking to save that hefty amount, which is why they are delaying paying the amount.
