Terrorism hits the Playground while a Cricket Match in Pakistan

In the COVID times, when the whole world is fighting for life with the Coronavirus, the people suffering massively and just when everyone is trying to get everything back to normal, the Cricket matches schedule is being resumed.

A shocking and terrifying incident happened in the Cricket ground, Terrorism has once again started haunting Pakistan and the terrorists obstructed the final match on Thursday by firing aimlessly at the people present over there. We are here to give all the details related to the headline.

Details of Incident

Where Pakistan is struggling to present a clean image and safe place so that other countries can visit theirs, the terrorists seem to be unstoppable.

The unfortunate incident happened on 7th August 2020 during the final of the local Amn Cricket tournament held at the Dradar Amazai Area in Ismailzai Tehsil in the Upper District of Orakzai district.

As per reports a large number of audience which included social and political workers, media persons were present to see the finale but as soon as the match started the terrorists opened indiscriminate firing from the nearby hills on the people present in-ground and the hopes of spectators of seeing finale turned into a nightmare.

Poor spectators, players, journalists ran for their life and somehow managed to save themselves from gunshots.

The firing was so vigorous that the match had to be canceled. Thankfully no injuries and loss of life have been reported after the deadly incident.

As per the Orakzai District Police Officer, they had some news of terrorists being present in that area but their dangerous intentions were unknown but after this terror-filled incident, the police with Orakzai scouts and Frontier corps will launch a joint operation against the criminals or Terrorists.

Terrorism side effects on Cricket in Pakistan

Terrorism clearly means terror, has made things worse for Pakistan as no big teams will be planning any tours related to games, etc to the country because of safety issues.

Unfortunately, this incident has impacted negatively and made all the international teams decide against visiting Pakistan. As a result, Pakistan shifted bases for their home games.

Long-time back in 2009, a similar incident had happened when the terrorists attacked Sri Lankan Team Bus resulting in Pakistan playing their home games in UAE for a decade. And in the wake of the attack, Pakistan also lost joint hosting rights of the 2011 world cup.

Pakistan had to pay a huge price for terrorism and suffered a lot due to such incidents in terms of revenue where Pakistan faced the loss of millions in the last decade.

The things got better with time in recent years and a few teams like Sri Lanka, West Indies and Bangladesh visited Pakistan, a World XI side also visited in 2017 for a three-match T20I series but again the history was repeated making the situation worse for Pakistan when the country was desperately trying to convince big teams to visit the country.

The incident is a major setback for Pakistan as no one can compromise with safety. The investigation is going on to trace the terrorists.

We will keep you posted with the latest updates. Till then Be safe and stay with Us.
