IPL 2021 – Match 7 Highlights Unadkat and Miller helped RR to over the line against DC

Another match ended thrillingly. Game number seven saw Rajasthan had a Royal win over Delhi Capitals yesterday. Both the teams bowled brilliantly, but in the end, it was the Double R’s who snatched their maiden win of the IPL 2020 by three wickets.

Rajasthan Royals won the toss and opted to bowl first in this match. Jaydev Unadkat was the one who bagged the first three wickets of the DC team. The Capitals didn’t get a good start as Undakat dismissed Shaw, Dhawan, and Rahane in the powerplay’s first three overs. All these three batsmen were out in the single-digit score.

Then Mustafizur Rahman pushed DDC further when the Bangla bowler picked the Aussie all-rounder Marcus Stonis for a golden. Skipper Rishabh Pant and Lalit Yadav stabilized the innings further after the powerplay overs didn’t pan out for the Capitals.

Lalit and Pant shared a stand of 50 runs and brought DC back into the game. Pant hit some lovely stores, and in over of Rahul Tewatia, Pant smashed 20 runs and brought the lost momentum back in for DC.

Pant also reached his first half-century as the skipper of Delhi Capitals. But the Royals made a comeback because Pant was run out after scoring 51 runs.

RR ended the cameo innings of Lalit Yadav after Pant’s dismissal. Tom Curran, who has a Test century to his name, showed that he could bat in the T20s. He provided few lusty blows. But the England bowler couldn’t stay till the last over, and he was also clean bowled by Fizz. Curran was out for 21 runs.

Chris Woakes held the one up and tried to slog every delivery. Some of them connected well, while he also missed a few. Ashwin started his innings with a boundary. But he couldn’t manage to kick on. Ash was out for just seven runs.

Then Woakes and Rabada finished the innings for Delhi Capitals with just 147 runs on the board in their 20 overs. In this innings, the Delhi Capitals batsmen didn’t hit a single six. That was because of the brilliant bowling done by the Double R’s from ball one.

Jaydev Unadkat made a brilliant comeback. He was economical, and he also picked up three wickets in his four overs. Mustafizzur and Morris controlled the middle overs well, along with Chetan Sakariya, who couldn’t take any wickets. But Fizz took two, and Morris bagged one wicket to his name.

The run chase was again a difficult one for the Double R’s. The start was not good as the new openers fell early in the modest score chase. Manan Vohra started his innings well. But he didn’t score more than nine runs.

Chris Woakes dismissed the openers in one over. After Vohra, Woakes took the big wicket of his teammate Jos Buttler, who was dismissed for just two runs. Then the lone fighter of the last game couldn’t put a fight in this one. Sanju Samson played a brilliant knock against PBKS. But here he was out for just four runs.

Shivam Dune has promoted up the order, and a player like David Miller was pushed down. Dube didn’t show any class. He ate, But he couldn’t finish the game p seven deliveries to score just two runs.

But David Miller, the experienced middle-order batsman from South Africa, batted extremely well in this run chase. Miller Killer kept the Double R’s run chase in the hunt. RR’s lower-order batsmen contributed well, just like DC’s batsmen.

Miller scored a well-compiled half-century on his first outing for RR. But he couldn’t finish the game for them. Miller was out after he scored a well-made 64 runs. RR’s run chase was under pressure after Miller was out. But Chris Morris, the fast bowling all-rounder, and Jaydev Unadkat ensured a thrilling win for RR.

Rajasthan Royals got over the line this time. They won this match by three wickets because of their bowlers, Miller and Morris. DC bowlers fought well. Woakes and Rabada picked up two wickets each, while Avesh Kahn took three wickets to his name.

Jaydev Unadkat’s handy contribution with the bat and his three wickets with the ball earned him a man-of-the-match award for this wonderful effort.
