INDIA’S TOP 5 BEST ALL-ROUNDERS OF ALL-TIME

Indian Cricket has produced some great players with time. There have been some legendary batsmen and bowlers who performed very well in their careers. International cricket started in 1932 and in these 89 years, India won numerous trophies. A lot of players were there who made the winnings possible. We have named five players as the best all-rounders of all time.

  1. Ravi Shastri- The former Indian cricketer and current coach of the Indian Cricket team is also one of the best all rounder players of Indian cricket. Ravi Shastri’s most memorable match was the test match of 1991/92 in Sydney where he hit 206 runs and took 4 wickets. He has an overall score of more than three thousand runs and more than 200 wickets in all forms.
  2. Mankad- For those who don’t know him, Vinoo Mankad is the player on whom the Mankad Rule in cricket is named. According to the rule, if the bowler is running for bowling and he finds the batsman on the nonstrike out of the crease and he runs him out, he will be considered out even though he was on the nonstrike end.

Mankad used to wear Jersey no. 4 and he has a score of more than two hundred runs and more than 150 wickets in his career. He also has a record of having an opening partnership of 413 runs with Pankaj Roy in a match against New Zealand in 1956 which was played in Chennai.

  1. Ravindra Jadeja- The third one on the list is the very talented Indian all-rounder Jadeja who is also one of the best fielders in the world. He has helped the team many a time in winning important matches. The player has played around 168 One Day International matches where he has scored 2500 runs and took more than 150 wickets. Even in the test matches also, he has a score of more than 2000 runs and 220 wickets.
  2. Ravicharan Ashwin- One of the best spinners that Indian cricket ever had, Ravicharan Ashwin is no doubt number two on the list of best all-rounder players ever. He has scored around 2500 runs in test matches and took more than 350 runs in his cricket career. 
  3. Kapil Dev- The last but not the least on the list is the great Kapil Dev. Every cricket fan remembers his 1983 world cup performance where he scores 175 runs and helped the team win the trophy. He has scored around 4000 runs and took 250 wickets in his ODI career and has a score of more than 5000 runs in test matches.
