A Study Says That Indian Premier League Is Much Classier Than Any Other T20 League In The World

IPL or the Indian Premier League was founded by the BCCI in India. The first official match was played back in 2008. In a recent study, it was found that the IPL is of a higher standard than any other T20 franchise in the world.

The study was done by CricViz back in May 2020 and the study found out that the quality of cricket played in IPL is better than the international T20 cricket. 

How The Study Was Done? 

The study assessed the players’ performance of those who have played several tournaments across the globe and how their performances have varied from league to league. 

Say, suppose if a batsman performed well in KFC Big Bash, but struggled in IPL, then we can say that the cricket played in IPL is of much more quality than in the Big Bash. This way more and more players are studied and the pattern becomes more and more consistent. 

The study was done by CricViz and it was conducted by keeping some parameters in mind but the significance of the study was to come to a conclusion that why IPL has higher quality than other T20 leagues in the world. For more clarity on the topic.

The Study’s Conclusion

According to the report if an average T20 player is performing in the IPL then the player would score 0.04 fewer runs every delivery compared to what he would perform in an international T20 game. 

When such data analysis was done it was ultimately concluded with the decision that IPL remained at the top position followed by MSL (Mzanzi Super League), PSL (Pakistan Super League), BBL, CPL, and the list goes on. 

Considering the fact that IPL is the best T20 league in the world, the biggest surprise for the readers will be when they realize international cricket is not even close to competing with IPL. 

And, one of the reasons behind the low rankings of the international T20s is suggested to be the fact that some of the players prefer to play leagues over international cricket which ultimately reduces the talent available at the national level.
