Badani Reveals A Funny Prank That Sachin Tendulkar Pulled On Javagal Srinath’s To Help Him Calm His Nerve!

One of the greats of the sport is not only a brilliant player but also a prankster as we have come to know over the years. Many teammates have shared their experience with Sachin and all most all of got pranked by him at some point in time.

Here is another such story of Sachin being the playful yet helping teammate that he is!  

What Happened Before The 2002 ODI Against England

Former India batsman Hemang Badani recently shared this funny incident. He posted on his Instagram account on the episodes of #StorieswithHemangBadani about how Sachin helped Javagal Srinath a former fast bowler calm his nerves before an ODI against England in Cuttack played in 2002.

Badani said Srinath was unusually nervous that day which was different from his normal behavior as he is usually very confident about himself. When Sachin noticed he asked Badani who wasn’t playing that day to switch Srinath’s trousers with Sachin’s.

Sachin hoped Srinath being a tall 6’2’’-6’3’’ guy wearing his trousers and him being only 5’6’’ tall would help lighten the mode. So during the practice, Sachin said to Badani “Take my trousers, put them in Srinath’s bag, and pull out his trousers and keep it away wherever you can, be it in your bag, be it in my bag. Just take it away”.

However, when Srinath returned to the dressing room from practice he didn’t even notice the swap and wore the trousers and went onto the field to bowl the first ball. The people started laughing when they noticed his trousers, and Srinath still oblivious about it all.

Then after some time, someone pointed it out to Srinath and he went off the field and changed the trousers. This helped lighten the mood and he performed brilliantly in that match.
