YOUSUF BELIEVES THAT INDIA HAD A BETTER BATTING LINE-UP AT TENDULKAR’s TIME THAT KOHLI!!

As every legend does, former Captain of Pakistan Mohammed Yousuf also believes that the batting line-up of the Indian team around the time of Lord of cricket Sachin Tendulkar was far better than the line-up which is currently led by Virat Kohli.

The parameter of comparison is quality Bowlers

Former Pakistani test legend and captain shared his opinion on the current batting line-up of the Indian team which is led by great Virat Kohli. He rates this current team low in comparison to the batting line-up led by Sourav Ganguly aka Dada.

Yousuf believes that Sourav’s India had better quality batters than that of Virat’s India. He compared two teams based on the quality of the bowlers they have faced. He also believes that the quality of bowlers was far better than today.

Though he admitted that Virat Kohli’s led India which has Cheteswar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, and Virat Kohli himself provide quality to the Indian team. But they can’t match Sourav’s led Indian line-up which had Sachin the great, V.V.S Laxman, Rahul Dravid, and Ganguly himself as they faced more dangerous and quality bowlers like Waqar Younis, Shane Warne, etc as stated by Yousuf.

Yousuf also rates Sachin Tendulkar as the most complete batsman of all time rather than West Indian legend Brian Lara and Australia great Ricky Ponting. He added that the quality of bowlers has become less and we don’t see many quality bowlers besides one or two said in an interview.  

Yousuf said about Tendulkar that when he was playing for Pakistan, he watched every legend like Ponting, Lara, Hyden but he always felt Tendulkar as the most complete batsman among the all. In contrast with a batsman, he said that the Indian bowling line-up has improved over the years and is far better than the previous one.

When he was asked about the most consistent batsman in the current team, he rated Virat Kohli far better than any other else. He said that though he enjoys Rohit Sharma batting Virat Kohli is a more committed and hardworking cricketer who has that passion for this sport and that thirst to score runs. Captaincy made him a better and mature player admitted Pakistani legend.

Conclusion

We should also note that everything has changed over some time including the rules, dimensions. So, every batsman is great and complete in his period.
