Working towards a dream

Sportsmanship is all about respecting your team and working together as a team when it comes to any sport. Discrimination in any sport is like cancer that destroys the spirit of sportsmanship.

But it is always inspiring to see that many players who are being discriminated against don’t get distracted by such useless statements and instead focus on their game and tend to give a befitting reply on the field.

Wants to represent the national side:

Such is the story of Mahinder Pal who dreams of becoming the first-ever Sikh player to represent the Pakistani cricket team.

He says he wants to play for Pakistan in a match against arch-rivals India as he tells that he has many relatives from Punjab in India and says they would love to see him play for Pakistan and even support him.

How he handles discrimination:

He idolizes Waqar Younis and has suffered hugely after the PCB decided to change the domestic structure and scraped the departmental teams.

Talking about the discrimination he says he takes these things in his strides and he has seen tough days but wasn’t ready to give up on his dreams. He says you meet good and bad people everywhere in the world.
