Women’s cricket is always a joy to watch as we see our girls put their efforts on the field, hit big sixes, bowling the Yorkers, and giving their best in fielding too.
Women’s cricket has developed a lot over the years and is now equally competitive as men’s cricket. Many new nations have started playing women’s cricket and promoted the sport in their country.
This is also a way to promote gender equality in many countries by providing the girls with an equal opportunity towards the game.
BCCI had introduced women’s IPL, 3 years ago and it has been a big success. It has three teams namely Supernovas, Trailblazers, and Velocity having Harman Preet Kaur, Smriti Madhana, and Mithali Raj as their team’s captain respectively.
This year even the women’s IPL would be played in the UAE starting from the 4th of November and will be the third women’s IPL. It will be a 6-day tournament which ends on 9 November and will be decided on a single league basis.
2 Bangladeshi girls to join:
This year 2 Bangladesh women’s team players will also take part in the IPL. Pacer Jahanara Alam will play for the Velocity while all-rounder Salma Khatun will represent the Trailblazers in the upcoming tournament.
