WHO ARE THERE IN THE LIST OF 93 INTERNATIONAL CRICKETERS FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER LANKA PREMIER LEAGUE 2020?

The news of the first time ever Lanka Premier League was released recently and it was stated that there will be 23 matches in the league and the inauguration of the league will be done on 28th August 2020. Fans are very excited to see a brand new league and we are here to give you more details about the players who are there in the league. 

The list of players for the inaugural edition of LPL consists of names of 93 international cricketers. 

The list includes England’s World Cup-winning pacer Liam Plunkett along with New Zealand’s seamer Tim Southee.

We have also heard that Veteran Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez and West Indies opener Dwayne Smith are also there in the list of players. There are many more names on the list but for knowing the exact names we need to wait for the official announcements from Sri Lanka Board.

The report also says that the rights for the league have been awarded to a Dubai-based sports broadcasting company Innovative Production Group (IPG) for the next five years. 

IPG has gained total rights over the ground, franchises, production, and TV rights of the tournament. IPG will pay USD 2 million annually for the rights. 

The salaries for players are different according to their stature. A Sri Lankan icon player would get USD 60,000 and a top cricketer will be range in USD 50,000 TO 40,000. Other players would range between 40,000 to 10,000 depending individually. 

The finals of the league tournament will be played on 20th September 2020. Fans are waiting eagerly for the first-time league and are waiting for the announcements of the names of players. So stay tuned with us for the names and keep reading.
