‘I couldn’t hit six boundaries or six sixes in an over’ – Virender Sehwag showers praise on Prithvi Shaw

In the last match of Delhi Capitals against Kolkata Knight Riders in the 14th season of the Indian Premier League, Prithvi Shaw from Delhi Capitals performed great. Shaw hit the fastest half-century of this season. Shaw hit 82 runs in 41 balls and helped the team win the match.

It was Prithvi Shaw whose contribution got the game. In the first over of the match, he destroyed bowler Shivam Mavi by hitting six boundaries in six balls. From the Delhi Capitals team, only Ajinkya Rahane is the other batsman who has done so.

After such a great performance by Shaw and a win by DC, Virender Sehwag praised the player and congratulated the team for the win. Sehwag said that if one wants to hit six boundaries in six balls continuously, he has to time and hit every shot perfectly which is not an easy task.

He added that he tried hitting six boundaries in six balls a lot of time in his career but all he could score was 18 to 20 runs in an over. He could never hit six boundaries back to back. For hitting six-fours, one needs to hit the shot at perfect gaps and time the shots perfectly.

Sehwag added that Shaw performed extremely well in the match. It may be possible that he has played with Shivam Mavi in under-19 games so he got comfortable.

He added that he has also played a lot of games with Ashish Nehra but still he could never hit six boundaries. He also said that Shaw should have hit a century in the match.

Things could have been great if have hit a century. He has faced bad times in the past but now he is going great, he shouldn’t have got out and hit a century.

ABOUT THE MATCH
