The Royal Challengers Bangalore is a franchise cricket team founded by United Spirits in 2008 and named after the company’s liquor brand Royal Challenge. This Bangalore and Karnataka based team plays in the Indian Premier League since 2008, and never won the single IPL but always finished runners-up on three occasions between 2009 and 2016. This team was purchased by Vijay Mallya for US$111.6 million and was the second-highest bid for a team.

RCB’s major rivalry team is Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders nowadays. In 2008, Knight Riders also gave tough competition to RCB. The team includes marvelous players of different countries i.e., Akshdeep Nath, Colin De Grandhomme, Dale Steyn, Himmat Singh, Kulwant Khejroliya, Marcus Stonis, Milind Kumar, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Prayas Ray Barman, Shimron Hetmyer, Tim Southee Heinrich Klassen and in 2020 IPL auction, they also added Aaron Finch, Chris Morris, Joshua Phillippe, Kane Richardson, Pavan Deshpande, Dale Steyn, Shahbaz Ahamad and Isuru Udana!

The Indian skipper on Thursday 15th October 2020, expressed his emotions for his team RCB and said that he had never thought back in 2008 that one day he will play the 200th game for the same franchise. He has made 185 unbelievable appearances in the IPL for RCB and also played fifteen Champions League T20 for the same side.

He has become the first cricketer to play the 200th game for the single team, which is seriously scintillating and incredible! From his journey of 2008 when he was roped in the team by an auction is now drastically changed and now our favorite popular Indian skipper is the Captain of the Royal Challengers Bangalore! Frankly, earning such a big position and popularity isn’t everyone’s cup of tea! Only the golden one can achieve it, like the shining Virat Kohli!
