The family of South African cricketer, Vernon Philanders, devasted and in huge shock due to the loss of the younger one of the family. It is a very sad demise for the Philander family.
The brother of Vernon Philanders’ who was 32-year-old’s was shot dead near his home in Cape Town. According to some sources, Vernon’s brother Tyrone Philander was delivering water to a neighbor on Wednesday afternoon when he was gunned down. It is a very sad demise for the Philander family.
Several investigations are taking place for this matter searching for the shooter. We hope that Tyrone Philander gets justice soon. Soon after the devastating news took place fans have showered their support for Philander’s family.
Vernon Philander was grateful that people were supporting him during these tough times and he even replied to them in his official twitter handle.
Here is what he said, “Our family is coming to terms with the brutal murder in my hometown of Ravensmead earlier today. I would like to ask that the family’s privacy be respected during this difficult time.”
Philander was an excellent bowler during his cricket career. Fans have loved him for his magical spells.
The 35-year-old had made his Test debut on 9th November 2011 against Australia and made his ODI debut back in June 2007 against Ireland. Philander had announced his retirement from international cricket last year in December.
