Despite the prevailing pandemic conditions, Cricket Australia had managed to make arrangements for the matches which have been played till now. But a new, yet unknown mutant strain of Covid-19 has spread in Sydney, Yeah, it sounds somewhat like a Sci-Fi, Apocalyptic, and Zombie-ish but it’s true. And so that the safety and security of the players, as well as the citizens, is the foremost priority of the Cricket Board and the Government, considering this the concerned authorities have taken a step to protect and shield the spectators.
Covid-19 Compels Cricket Australia!
Cricket Australia has made amends in the locations of the three matches which would have been held in Sydney Showground Stadium but now are shifted to Manuka Oval, Canberra. However, tests would be conducted on the players before the matches start. The teams whose games were scheduled on the previously assigned venue are Sydney Sixers, Sydney Thunder, Perth Scorchers, and Hobart Hurricanes.
The official account of Big Bash League shared the confirmation on Twitter,
One of the three relocated matches is between Sydney Sixers and Sydney Thunder which will be played on the 13th of January 2021, the second one is between Perth Scorchers and Sydney Sixers which will be held on the 16th of January 2021, and last but not the least, the third match is between Hobart Hurricanes and Sydney Thunder.
This new mutation of the virus had become a hurdle in the way of BBL matches which in order to be crossed required to drift away from the prescribed venues. Alistair Dobson, head of BBLs said in a statement that fans would have anticipated more from these matches and the BBL acknowledges and admires their support

He also added that if they change the location of the matches from the vulnerable area then by doing so, they can originate probabilities to make sure that the BBL 10 occurs with minimum problems encountered. This is made possible by the intense and thoughtful deliberation by the authorities to arrange and develop bio-secure bubbles in the revised location.
This was all done because of the outage of the virus in New South Wales, the CEO of Cricket NSW, Lee Germon expressed his dismay by saying that he would have loved to host if the matches were to be played in Sydney, but at the same time, he understands that this is a necessary step and need of the hour.
Perth Scorchers and Sydney Thunder will collide on the 9th of January 2021 in Perth.
