KL Rahul who could not perform well in the last year’s IPL matches is claimed to perform better in this season by his team’s coach Wasim Jaffer. In the last season of the Indian Premier League which was played in UAE due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Rahul performed well in the initial matches of the tournament, but later on, he couldn’t play and due to that, the team lost several matches and couldn’t even qualify to the playoffs.
KL RAHUL WILL BE MORE AGGRESSIVE THIS SEASON
KL Rahul played for the Kings XI Punjab team last year and play for the same team this year too. According to the team’s head coach Wasim Jaffer, came to defend the player against the criticism by people of his poor strike rate. Jaffer said that Rahul will play more aggressively this season and it will be different than the last season.
Wasim Jaffer also shared the reason why Rahul couldn’t perform well in the last year’s IPL. He said that as Rahul was playing at a lower number on the line-up, he had to play safe to save his wicket as there were not many batsmen left after him and that is why he couldn’t play aggressively as he had to save the wicket too.
In the recent series between India and England, KL Rahul’s performance was poor in the T20 international series, but he did perform great in the three-match One Day International series which was played right after the T20 series. Wasim said that players get better with time as they play more and more matches. Sometimes, they can’t perform well, things happen.
About the reason why they couldn’t qualify in the playoffs last year, Jaffer said that the team did not have good bowlers except Mohammad Shami and the lacking of bowlers made them unable to qualify for the playoffs. He said that they have got some great bowlers this year and things will be better for the team this season.
The Punjab Kings will play their first match of this season on 12th April against the Rajasthan Royals team. Do you think Punjab will manage to get the trophy this year?
