This day that year: When Virat Kohli broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record to become quickest to 10000 ODI runs

Mark my words ‘we are lucky to witness Virat Kohli bat’. This player has become a playing legend. He has been a constant source of consistent performances at number 3 and always providing the team a solid base and building on it.

He has lead India to many successful run chases and always leads from the front with his batting skills. He is full of a variety of classical shots especially his drive which is an absolute treat to watch.

After the great Sachin Tendulkar left the game, India needed a solid batsman to take his legacy forward and step up and take the responsibility in pressure situations, today we all can proudly accept that Virat Kohli has stepped up to the responsibility and is delivering on it.

He is not only a great batsman but also a competitive leader who has led India to great heights. India never had such an aggressive approach to test cricket until MS Dhoni was the captain, but Virat Kohli is ruthless and always wants his team to be on top.

2nd anniversary:

24th October 2020 marks the second anniversary of Virat Kohli reaching 10000 ODI runs. He achieved this milestone on this day 2 years ago in 2018 against West Indies in Vishakapatnam.

He became the fastest batsman to do so in just 205 innings. His age is just 31 and he has already scored 37 centuries in ODIs and is looking likely to break Sachin’s record of 51 centuries in ODIs.

The upcoming tour of Australia:

India will hope that their captain once again turns out to be a top performer when they visit Australia at the end of this year to play 3 T20S, 3 ODIs, and four tests. India will look to secure the Border Gavaskar trophy this year and make an impact on the ongoing test championship.
