Pakistan’s Hasan Ali and Jayawickrama of Sri Lanka have been nominated for the ICC Player of the month for May 2021. The International Cricket Council recognizes the players who have given their best performances in May, and they nominate them with the award to the male and the female cricketers.
With Hasan Ali and Jayawhickarma, the Bangladeshi wicket-keeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim is another nominee for the player this month. Hasan Ali picked up 14 wickets in the Test match against Zimbabwe.
And the debut for Praveen Jayawickarma took eleven wickets on his debut Test match against Bangladesh. Sri Lanka won the Test match because of the heroics of Praveen Jayawickarma. The debutant bagged the best figures for Sri Lanka on his maiden test match.
Mushfiqur Rahim, the wicket-keeper batsman from The Bangla Tigers team, played just one Test match against Sri Lanka. But he starred the Bangla Tigers with 125 runs knock, which enabled Bangladesh to win their first-ever ODI series against Sri Lanka.
ICC also nominated the Women players for May. Kathyrn Bryce is the first women player from Scotland to feature in the top ten batting or bowling of the ICC rankings. The women all-rounder picked up five wickets and scored 96 runs in the four T20I matches against Ireland.
Gaby Leah Paul is also an all-rounder, and she plays for the Ireland team. In the T20I series between Ireland and Scotland, Gaby displayed her all-around show, and he becomes the leading run-scorer and wicket-taker in Ireland.
The all-rounder scored 116 runs in four matches with an average of 29 and a strike rate of 116. She also picked up nine wickets in those four games with an economy rate of 4.44.
