The Golden Boy is making a comeback (Oscar De La Hoya)

All that glitters is not gold but the one who’s making the comeback is certainly the Golden Boy Oscar De La Hoya.

There are players, then there are those who make a name for themselves, and then there is a category which garners a lot of success that just doesn’t benefit them but also the very sport they are associated with along with the fans, such players are called legends and it wouldn’t be stretch at all to mention De La Hoya in that stand.

It’s been more than a decade since De La Hoya retired from the ring in 2008, after dominating the sport for a long time. But this hasn’t kept him away from the ring as he has been constantly around it. With his company Golden Boy Promotions managing some of the finest fighters in the business.

But as it’s said you cannot keep a lion caged for very long do you! In the past few months, De La Hoya has shown interest and has been working out to jump back into the ring to exchange some fists.

In an interview with ESPN’s Steve Kim, De La Hoya said “The rumors are true, and I’m going to start sparring in the next few weeks,” De La Hoya said. “It’s a real fight,” he said. “I miss being in the ring, I love boxing. Boxing is what gave me everything I have today, and I just miss it.”

And jumping on to this opportunity to get in the ring with the legend is a contemporary great Amir Khan.  Who then wasted no time taking to his twitter he posted a picture of him and De La Hoya, tagging the legend in the tweet he said “I heard Oscar De La Hoya is making a comeback. Well, De La Hoya has certainly announced his comeback and his desire to be back in the ring and have bouts with likes of his today’s finest players like Amir Khan and his Golden Boy Banners finest Canelo Alvarez.

We are not sure, of how good of an idea is making a comeback at aged 47 and after being out of the ring for a decade but certainly, we are all excited to see De La Hoya blow some punches and give us a glimpse of the Golden Boy’s rage and calmness in the ring.
