T Dilip and Paras Mhambrey Will Join Rahul Dravid As Assistant Coaches On The Sri Lankan White-Ball Tour

India will tour Sri Lanka for the white ball series from 13th July to 25th July 2021. India will play three ODIS, and T20I matches against the host Sri Lanka during this period.

India’s premier opening batsman, Shikhar Dhawan, was named the captain, and Bhvneshwar Kumar will be the vice-captain for this series. The squad also includes six uncapped players who will be making their debuts under the Dravid-Dhawan combo.

Rahul Dravid, the chief and head coach of the National Cricket Academy, will have two assistant coaches for this tour of Lanka. T Dilip and Paras Mhambrey are the two names of the assistances of India for the six games in Sri Lanka.

T Dilip is the fielding coach of the Hyderabad cricket team, and previously he was associated with the India A team. MSK Prasad, the former selector of BCCI, had interviewed Dilip in 2019. Prasad is highly impressed with his coaching skills and abilities, and Dilip has also completed level three of the coaching course.

India’s 20 man squad will also have five net bowlers. Today, all the Sri Lankan tour members are expected to start the quarantine, and they will leave for the island nation on 27th June 2021. The team will also follow hard three-day quarantine rules once they reach Sri Lanka. The Indian players will be in rooms for three days, and then they will be allowed for practice.

The head coach Rahul Dravid has insisted that the team will practice seven days before the 1st ODI, which will be played on 13th July 2021, and the team will have no practice games on this tour.

But they have arranged intra-squad matches before the start of the series. The Lankan Board has also said that they will play all six games at Colombo in R Premadasa Stadium.

The players will not have to go on the fitness test and YO YO test or the two kilometers running before this series starts. The BCCI officials have said that they will cancel these fitness parameters because of the lockdown in the country.

Varun Chakravarthy had failed the fitness test twice before he was added to the squad. If BCCI had conducted the fitness test, then Varun wouldn’t have made it to the squad.
