SURYAKUMAR YADAV TO SHOW HIS CAPTAINCY IN THE SYED MUSHTAQ ALI TROPHY 2021

Likewise, all the years, the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy which is a T20 Domestic Cricket Championship in which all the Ranji teams face off each other, is going to be organized in 2021 and will commence on the 10th of January 2021. There are total of 38 domestic teams which have been divided into 5 Elite groups. The Elite group E’s captain i.e. the Mumbai Team’s captain will be the Mumbai Indians IPL charm, right-handed batsman Surya Kumar Yadav.

Surya Kumar Yadav who has played for both Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians in the IPL and has been the part of the winning team MI of the IPL 2020, is given the responsibility of the Captain of the Elite group E (Team Mumbai) in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021. The player shot 480 runs in the IPL 2020 in 16 matches. Along with Surya, there are 19 more players who will be representing the Mumbai Team in the Trophy.

The wicket-keeper and cricketer with the batting style of playing right handed, Aditya Tare, is announced as the Vice-Captain of the team. Yet another Mumbai Indians IPL player, bowler, and batsman Dhawal Kulkarni also has his name amongst the team players, and Delhi Daredevils bowler Tushar Deshpande who bowls right-arm medium is also been listed to play the Trophy.

On the 26th of December was released the list of players of the team who are selected for the SMAT 2021, on the official website of the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA). Accompanied by the players’ names, instructions for the team members regarding safety measures of Covid-19 have also been given which go like the players will have to undergo RT-PCR (Real-time – Polymerase Chain Reaction) test and must have the result of the reports, negative so as to protect the players and prevent the virus from spreading further.

Conclusion

The Mumbai Cricket Association has also called all the players at the Wankhede Stadium on the 20th of December 2020 at sharp 9:30 am and assured that the rest of the details regarding the bio-secure bubbles and norms and guidelines of Covid-19 will be given to the players soon.
