Sunrisers Hyderabad Expressed Their Glee For Washington Sundar’s Four-Wicket Haul In A Tweet.

On Tuesday, July 19, Indian all-arounder Washington Sundar made an outstanding debut for Lancashire in the County Championship.

By taking four wickets against Northamptonshire on an opening day, Sundar helped Lancashire to a respectable position.

The middle order partnership that was developing was broken by the right-handed off-spinner after he had earlier in the day picked up the day’s first batter, Will Young.

His 4-wicket haul was cherished by Sunrisers Hyderabad by their tweet.

In July of last year, Sundar last competed in a first-class match. He had been absent from the game for a long time due to a finger ailment as well.

On his return to red-ball cricket, the 22-year-old dismissed Will Young (2 off 25), a well-positioned Rob Keogh (54 off 82), Ryan Rickleton (22 off 41), and Tom Taylor (1 of 4).

The all-rounder has played more than 50 times in the IPL and has already represented India in all three forms. Northampton had 218 for 7 in 72 overs at the end of the game.

The off-spinner is healthy again and was selected for the starting lineup against Northampton. He joins the Lancashire County team as the sixth cricketer from India.

Farokh Engineer, a former wicketkeeper-batsman, was the first Indian to join the team in 1968.

Following him, the Red Rose has been admirably represented by people like Murali Kartik, Dinesh Mongia, VVS Laxman, and former captain Sourav Ganguly.
