Stokes, Archer rested for England’s tour of Sri Lanka

It was a long and tough time of lockdown period due to the corona virus pandemic in almost all countries around the world during which we all were devoid of all the sports and our cricketing action but cricket finally resumed with England vs West Indies in July-August.

After that we had the most entertaining tournament of the year, the IPL in September and October where players from all around the World participated along with the domestic players if India and everyone got a chance to rejoin the game after a long break.

Now when the things are much better than before and authorities of various countries have agreed to start sports, 3 series are taking place simultaneously namely the England’s tour of South Africa, India’s tour of Australia and Pakistan’s tour of New Zealand.

Squad for Sri Lanka announced:

England’s tour of South Africa is about to end and their team for their upcoming series against Sri Lanka has been announced. The noticable changes are that their star all-rounder Ben stokes and their main pace bowler Jofra Archer have been rested for this tour and the off-spinner Moeen Ali has been given a chance to make a comeback into the test squad. 

A busy schedule ahead:

England have taken these decisions keeping in view the upcoming tour of India, the other matches in the test championship and the Ashes at the end of 2021. The England’s team needs players fresh for these upcoming matches in order to do well.
