Sri Lanka won the third ODI contested between Sri Lanka and Australia on 19 June 2022, at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo by 6 wickets to boss the five-match series by 2-1.
Nissanka and Mendis made 170 runs partnership from 181 deliveries to help their side chase the target of 292 runs while scoring 137 and half-century individually.
Before getting dismissed by Jhye Richardson, Nissanka scored 137 off 147 deliveries completing 11 fours and two sixes.
Kusal Mendis had to retire at 87 after getting hurt.
Jeffrey Vandersay took three wickets for Sri Lanka including Marnus Labuschagne’s wicket.
To help Australia post a total of 291/6 against Sri Lanka, Travis Head and Aaron Finch played knocks of 70 and 62 respectively.
After Aaron Finch lost his wicket Alex Carey and Travis Head led Australia’s side to fight back against Sri Lanka.
Australia lost a couple of wickets even before scoring 50.
Mitchell Marsh had to walk back to the pavilion after scoring 10 while David Warner was dismissed by Dushmantha Chameera for just 9.
The 4th ODI will be contested on the 21st of June at 2:30 pm IST (9 am GMT).
