IND Vs SA, South Africa Beats India By 9 Run: Yesterday Match Result, Match Highlights

The match was super fun. In yesterday’s match, South Africa won in the last over. Due to rain, the match was reduced to 40 overs. With the help of Quinton de Kock, Heinrich Klaasen, and David Miller, South Africa was able to put up a decent score of 249 runs on the board.

And in response, the Indian team was stopped at a score of 240 with 8 wickets lost. It was just Sanju Samson and Shreyas Iyer who played spectacularly.

Shardul Thakur, too, played brilliantly but was able to stay till the end. South Africa won the match by 9 runs and now leads the series 1-0.

India won the toss and invited South Africa to bat first, which was a good decision. India used the conditions and stopped South Africa at a score of just 249 runs. They required 250 to win the match, where the required run rate was almost 6.

The South played a classic game after losing 4 wickets at a loss score of 110 Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller handled the South African inning by scoring crucial runs for the team and creating a partnership of 139 runs to take their team to 249 runs.

The top run scorers for the team were Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller, and Quinton de Kock. Quinton de Kock scored 48 runs off 54 balls, including 5 fours, with a strike rate of 88.89.

With a strike rate of 119.05, David Miller scored 75 runs off 63 balls, including 5 fours and 3 sixes. Heinrich Klaasen scored 74 runs with a strike rate of 65 balls, including 6 fours and 2 sixes.

Shardul Thakur was the best bowler in yesterday’s match. He picked up 2 wickets with the lowest economy of 4.38. Ravi Bishnoi and Kuldeep Yadav picked one wicket each.

India’s batsmen fall in front of South Africa

Just like South Africa, India too didn’t have a great start. India lost 5 wickets at a score of 118. Both openers, Captain Shikhar Dhawan and Shubhan Gill didn’t get the double number. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ishan Kishan scored 19 and 20 runs, respectively.

And then, in the 27th over, Shreyas Iyer, who was looking good on the ground, was caught by Kagiso Rabada and bowled by Lungi Ngidi. He scored 50 runs off 37, including 8 fours, with a strike rate of 135.14.

For the 6th wicket, Sanju Samson and Shardul Thakur formed a partnership that broke with the wicket of Shardul Thakur at the score of 211 runs in the 38th over. Thakur scored 33 crucial runs.

After Thakur, there was no one to support Samson, but he was doing his best to get his team across the line and win the match.

India needed 29 runs in the final over to win the match. In response, Samson smashed 20 runs, but it was not enough to win the match, and India lost the match by 9 runs. Samson scored 86 runs off 63 balls, including 9 fours and 3 sixes, with a strike rate of 136.51.

The South African bowlers played a superb game yesterday. They have taken a wicket that pushed India on the back foot and gripped the game.

Though India got back into the game in the middle overs, after the wicket of Shardul Thakur, the South African bowlers didn’t let India get back into the game.

Lungi Ngidi picked up 3 wickets with an economy of 6.5. Kagiso Rabada picked up 2 wickets with an economy of 4.5. Wayne Parnell, Keshav Maharaj, and Tabraiz Shamsi picked up one wicket each.

The match ended with the South African win and India’s loss. South Africa is ahead in the series by 1-0 and the next match will be on October 9th. Until then, stay tuned.
