Shubman Gill could not hold back his excitement after the Gujarat Titans scored their first Indian Premier League title win in their first year in the tournament. This was a huge success that the team had especially with a title match against the fabled Rajasthan Royals.
The Titans scored 133-3 in their runs while the Royals came close with 130-9. Defence proved to be a huge asset for the win in the series as fans in Ahmedabad were stunned by the big finish conjured by the Titans. It was a wire to wire finish for the new IPL champions as they dominated the top pick Royals to close out the title in the 2022 season.
Those who play in Casinodays India must have been shocked by the result as well, especially if they have also wagered for the IPL final. The biggest stage of Indian cricket was clearly a tough showdown between the two best teams, and the Titans proved that they are here to dominate and succeed for years to come.
This brings a fresh face to the IPL, which used to be dominated by teams such as the Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Chennai Super Kings, and so on. The Titans’ win in the IPL final proves that the league’s future is in good hands with more intense competition to look out for in the years to come.
Hardik Pandya stole the show with his hot hand as he led the Titans to a huge win that no one expected. The roster was built on a good draft with the Titans assembling a squad that includes Mohammed Shami, Rashid Khan, Lockie Ferguson, and Pandya. These players led the attack on the bowling end to go along with a strong batting power push.
Pandya’s grit saw him take two wickets from Shimron Hetmyer, captain Sanju Samson and Jos Buttler, whose performance was also at a high level for the Royals. Pandya also did a great job to rotate his bowlers perfectly, going with one of the world’s best white-ball bowlers, Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan.
The Titans captain took a total of 3-17, and he went on to restrict the Royals to their score as he nailed 34 from 30 balls. Pandya has expertly shown his prowess both as a leader and a star player for the Titans in this close win.
Shubman Gill stepped up his play by coming up with a strong performance. He scored 45 without being taken out and nailed the first ball of the 18th over for six. That won the match in front of a record crowd of 105,000 in the game.
At the age of 22, Gill paved the way for the Titans’ success. He has played for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the last three years before the Titans took him in. Gill played a huge role in giving the squad some fruitful starts for most of the season and finished as the top scorer in this win. He was clearly pleased with the big win for the Titans as well.
‘It means a lot. After winning the under-19 World Cup, winning the IPL is just as big’, said Gill after the big win. ‘It is my fourth year. I wanted to be there till the end and that was the talk with the coaches. Glad I took them over the line’.
The Titans closed out the 2022 season of the IPL with the top spot. The team finished with 10 wins and four losses for 20 points, and they are the only squad to reach more than nine wins as well. This just shows the high expectations for the Titans as they are now seen as title contenders for the next few years of action.
This means that the Titans will be considered a heavy favourite in most cricket matches in the coming season after this huge finish in the 2022 season. That is why most Casinodays India players should keep an eye on the Titans if they are going to bet on IPL games for the 2023 season as well.
