SEVEN DESCRIBES CRICKET AUSTRALIA’s SCHEDULING AS ‘RIDICULOUS’!!

So, finally, it has been revealed that broadcasting unit Seven West Media has problems with the cricketing schedule of Cricket Australia. In a document written to the Federal Court, it was founded that Cricket Australia’s schedule is mentioned as Ridiculous. Well, the dispute between the two was open so, many of us don’t see any surprise in this.

‘This is Ridiculous’ says Lewis Martin in the Court

It is now officially stated that the broadcasting unit Seven has disputes regarding the schedule of Cricket Australia. They have been to Federal court to discuss the issue and have filed a document which was crucial in disclosing the whole matter.

Another Australian television company named Foxtel who is broadcasting Australia vs India is satisfied with the engagement of the viewers. The second One-day international between the two nations was the most-watched one-day on the subscription with an engagement of 585,000 audiences. But on the other hand, the unit of Seven has problems with Cricket Australia on the postponement of the one-day series against West Indies, a one-day battle with the Black Caps, and only test with emerging Afghanistan.

The unit has filed an affidavit in the Federal Court in which the Seven Melbourne managing Director and head of Sport, Lewis Martin has mentioned the cricketing schedule of Cricket Australia as Ridiculous. He added that this is not the summer they are planning for.

Significantly, The Seven West Media has paid Cricket Australia for this season in September as a prime broadcaster on the fair value which matches with the standards and terms of the broadcasters.

Of the total money, the unit still has to pay $25 million but they have decided not to pay the rest as the things are not going according to them and what they have planned for. According to them, nothing is happening per the agreement with Cricket Australia. In this direction, the unit has sent a notice to Cricket Australia claiming the end of the deal.

Nick Hockley interim CEO of CA has something different to say. He backfired on the Seven West Media for taking Cricket down for their media’s sake. He added that Cricket Australia has always worked on the commitments to deliver a thrilling summer and which they are doing. Even in this pandemic by the collective efforts from the Government and the other authorities and players are delivering the entertainment. They are feeling proud of that.

Conclusion

It has been a long issue now between Seven and CA. They must find a way to tackle the issues and should work for the betterment of cricket.
