SELECTORS TO SCOUT LOCAL TALENT AT TWENTY-20 CRICKET TOURNAMENT IN LUDHIANA

A T20 tournament is going to be organised by Ludhiana district cricket association on Friday. 

It will be a big opportunity for all the players as the selectors for Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy will be watching the performances of the players. 

So, there are chances that some of the players playing in the tournament might get selected for the trophy.

PARTICIPANTS POSSIBILITIES

Some of the players who played in the Indian Premier League (IPL), will also participate in the tournament.

Bhpinder Singh, Former International player and member of organising committee said in a statement that the tournament will create a lot of opportunities for young talented players, and might give them a chance to play for Punjab in various tournaments organised by BCCI and Indian Premier League (IPL). 

Many of the players got selected to play in Indian Cricket Team after playing in IPL.

Mandeep Singh, Gurkirat Singh Mann, Sandeep Sharma, Barinder Sran, Anmolpreet Singh, Arshdeep Singh, Harpreet Brar, Prabhsimran Singh are some of the players who have played in IPL with international players. 

In this Tournament, young talents will get to play with those state level players and will get to learn a lot of things from them.

ARRANGMENTS

To provide exposure to the young players, the tournament will be played as per the rules of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

About six acres of land has been alloted to the committee for the stadium but the association has asked for another four acres for Players Cricket Association (PCA) to make a world class stadium in Ludhiana.

The inaugural edition of the T20 knock out tournament will start on Friday and go until 27 December. There is a cash price of 1.50 lacs for the winning team and 75000 Rs. for the runner-up. 

There will be eight teams playing in the tournament where each team will play three league matches. The top two teams from each group will play semi finals and the winners from the semifinals will play in the final match.

The president of Ludhiana District Association said that the tournament will be featured in Players Cricket Association (PCA)’s annual calendar and will go a long way for emerging new talent in the state cricket.
