Sachin Tendulkar reveals true story behind inventing famous Upper Cut shot in cricket

All Indians whether they are interested in sports or not know the name of the legend Sachin Tendulkar. Such was the legacy of this cricketer that many in India know about cricket only because of him. He gave 24 years of his life on the international pitch. 

Making the debut under Azharuddin’s captaincy at the age of 16 to retiring under MS Dhoni’s leadership at the age of 40, he gave all what he had to India. He is the highest ODI run scorer, the highest test run scorer and one-time world cup winner in 2011. He is the one who saw the downfall as well as the rise of Indian team during his career. 

He also played in the Indian premier league for Mumbai Indians and one it with them in 2013 after which he announced his retirement from all forms of cricket.

His special skill:

In a recent Q&A video shared by the cricketer on his YouTube channel, he revealed about how he invented his upper cut shot. 

He said in 2002 India were playing against South Africa in South Africa and their fast bowler Makhaya Ntini had a tendency to bowl bouncers to all the batsmen and he was doing the same to him. Hence he decided to play that shot and surprised everyone with his new skill.

Used against various opponents:

After that he used this shot a several times against various oppositions such as Pakistan where Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammed Asif bowled very fast. This shot if Tendulkar was later copied by various other batsmen such as Virender Sehwag who also played it with same delicacy for a six.
