Ricky Ponting questions why selectors consult David Warner on opening partner

Records are made, players are made, legends are born and it’s altogether the most fascinating and competitive cricket series between any two teams for all the cricket fans around the globe.

Over the years the Border Gavaskar trophy( the 4-match test series) has produced some memorable form of cricket which will be remembered for generations to come. Right from Ricky Ponting vs Sourav Ganguly to Dhoni vs Michael Clarke to Virat Kohli vs Steve Smith we have witnessed the most competitive cricket in all three departments.

Many records have been created and many broken and recreated by the big players. Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, Zaheer Khan, VVS Laxman, Anil Kumble and many others became a part if Indian test legacy only after performing boldly against Australia.

India without virat in last 3 tests:

The Border Gavaskar trophy is scheduled to start from 17 December in Adelaide this year. India will hope to build on their historic test series win registered last time under Virat Kohli’s leadership. However this time around Virat won’t be available for the last 3 test matches as he’ll head home to India for a paternal leave. So India will be led by Ajinkya Rahane in the last three test matches with Rohit Sharma replacing Virat Kohli.

Ponting differs with Hohns:

Hohns, a memeber of Cricket Australia said that they’ll consult David Warner on who should open the batting alongside him. They have to chose between Will Puckovsi and Joe Burns for the opening batsman. Ricky Ponting the legendary Australian captain condemned Hohns statement saying that board shouldn’t consult ang player in such matters and the one who plays well should be given the chance.
