After the test series between India and England which was played at Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad in which team India won. The five matches T20 international series was also played at the same stadium will spectators openly allowed to see the matches. As the Narendra Modi stadium is recently renovated into one of the largest stadiums in the world, we saw a large number of people coming to the stadium.

However, after two T20 matches in which both the teams won 1-1 each, the next of the matches are expected to be played without any spectators allowed. The Board of Control for Cricket in India has officially confirmed the news that there won’t be any crowd for the next matches for safety precautions.

Due to the increase in the Covid-19 cases recently, the board has taken a big step to play the match behind closed doors as they can’t allow a large number of people’s gathering at the stadium. The Gujarat Cricket Association has also agreed to the board and the England team has also been introduced to the situation and the board’s decision.

ODI SERIES TO BE PLAYED AFTER THE T20I

As the T20 international series between England and India ends on 20th March, both the teams will play three matches One Day International series starting from 23rd march to be played in Pune. Just like the T20s, there won’t be any spectators allowed in the ODI matches too.

PUTTING A QUESTION MARK ON THE IPL

After the board has decided not to allow any spectators in the stadium for T20 and One Day International matches between India and England, it has put a question mark on the Indian Premier League too which will be played in the next month. A board is not allowing any spectators in the T20 and ODI series, there a possibility that they won’t allow them in the IPL too, taking the safety of the people as the top priority.

One of the officials from the Gujarat Cricket Association has officially confirmed in a press release about the decision and he also told that those who already bought the tickets for the next three matches, will be provided a refund of their tickets. Those who got the tickets also were advised not to go to the stadium as they won’t be allowed inside.

The England team has also made a tweet regarding the board’s decision and they were fully cooperative with it. We hope that the Covid-19 cases won’t increase more and the pandemic comes to an end.

Do you think there will be spectators allowed in the matches of the Indian Premier League which is going to start from 9th April?
