RCB vs GT: Kohli’s Half-Century Keeps RCB Alive In Playoff Race With A Win

The 67th match of IPL 2022 was played between RCB and GT. In this match, Captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and decided to bat. Batting first, Gujarat team scored 168 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs on the basis of Hardik Pandya’s half-century innings and set Bangalore a target of 169 runs to win.

In response, the Bangalore team scored 170 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 18.4 overs on the basis of Virat Kohli’s half-century innings.

Virat Kohli Hit A Strong Half-Century

Team opener Virat Kohli got Bangalore off to a very good start against Gujarat. He completed his half-century in 33 balls in this match. Kohli faced 54 balls and was dismissed for 73 runs with the help of 8 fours and 2 sixes. His wicket was taken by Rashid Khan.

In the end, Glenn Maxwell gave the team victory by hitting a strong six. Maxwell remained unbeaten, scoring 40 runs in 18 balls with the help of 5 fours and 2 sixes, while Karthik remained unbeaten on 2 runs.

Du Plessis Missed Half Century

Captain Faf du Plessis got the team off to a great start but he missed out on his half-century. Du Plessis faced 38 balls and scored 44 runs with the help of 5 fours and became the victim of Rashid Khan. He was just 6 runs away from his half-century.

Hardik Pandya Scored A Half-Century

For Bangalore, captain Hardik Pandya batted with restraint and scored a strong half-century. However, his half-century came out after playing a slow innings. He completed his half-century in 42 balls. Hardik faced 47 balls and remained unbeaten on 62 with the help of 3 sixes and 4 fours.

At the same time, Rashid Khan remained unbeaten on 19 runs in 6 balls with the help of 2 sixes and 1 four while Rahul Tewatia was dismissed after scoring 2 runs.

Miller Got Out After Playing A Short Innings

David Miller tried to set a boundary but he failed to convert his score into a big innings. Miller faced 25 balls and scored 34 runs with the help of 3 sixes and became the victim of Hasaranga.

Shattered Top Order

Gujarat’s top order was completely shattered against Bangalore.The team’s opener Shubman Gill was dealt cheaply. Gill became the victim of Josh Hazlewood by scoring 1 run in 4 balls.

After this, Matthew Wade returned to the pavilion after getting out in an unfortunate manner. Maxwell dismissed him lbw. After this he also took DRS but the third umpire declared him out.

However, in the ultra edge, it was clearly visible that the ball had touched the bat, despite this, when Matthew Wade was out, he looked very disappointed. Virat Kohli consoled him after his dismissal. Wade was dismissed for 16 runs in 13 balls with the help of 1 six and 2 fours. Then opener Wriddhiman Saha was run out after scoring 31 runs in 22 balls with the help of 4 fours and 1 six.
