Injuries have been friends of the Indian team this series!
Seems like injuries have become friends of the Indian team. Test after test Indian team is facing injury of players and now, the name of Jadeja is also included in that. The 32-year all-rounder got hit by the ball in the first innings of India in the third test against Australia played at Sydney.
He continued playing and went out with 28 not out as the Indian team got bowled out on 244. After the scan, it was found that the thumb is dislocated and as a result, he didn’t come out to bowl in the match but was ready to bat for the team in the second innings but he didn’t get the chance to play as India ended the match as a draw.
Jadeja went to tweet and posted an image of him after he successfully underwent the surgery. Here you will find the tweet,
He wrote in the caption that he is out of action for a while and will make a return in cricket with a bang!
Board Of Control For Cricket In India (BCCI) confirmed through a statement released on Monday evening that Ravindra Jadeja has a dislocation in his left thumb which he got on day three of a test played between India and Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He was sent for a scan which confirmed the dislocation.
The statement also confirmed that he is not available for the fourth and the last test against Australia which is supposed to be held in Brisbane.
BCCI said that Jadeja will first consult a hand-specialist in Sydney before returning to India. Once he will return, he will be directed to National Sports Academy in Bengaluru for further process.
The Indian team has already lost so many players in the series, Mohammad Shami and Umesh Yadav have been ruled out in the first and the last test respectively and now Ravindra Jadeja and Hanuma Vihari have been hurt. Well, there is a piece of news on Jasprit Bumrah too that he is also not available for the final test match.
I wish him and all Indian players who are injured a speedy recovery. Injuries are parts and parcels of a sportsperson. What do you think about the result of the series?
