We have new news from the BCCI as Rajeev Shukla has been elected as the vice-president of the board. This decision is also important as Rajeev Shukla who is a congress man was nominated for the post in the BJP govt era. Rajeev Shukla has been appointed to this post along with 2 councillors Brijesh Patel and M. Khairul Jamal Majumdar.
Rajiv Shukla was known for having good relations with former finance minister and DDCA chief late Arun Jaitley despite different political affiliations. Hence it is said that Rohan Jaitley, the current chief of DDCA and the son of late Arun Jaitley, nominated Shukla for the post.
Elections for these posts were to be held on 24 December but there were only 3 nominations, one for each post, hence all the three candidates have been elected unopposed to the positions. The post of vice-president which Rajiv Shukla will hold now had fell vacant after Mahim Verma chose to quit the post as he had to return to his home state, Uttarakhand where he has been elected as secretary of the state’s association once again.

Rajiv Shukla was the chairman of the governing council of the Indian premier league before this. Shukla has also served as the former secretary of the Uttar Pradesh cricket association. He will be looking forward to his new job and take steps for the betterment of the game in the country.
