Rahul Tewatia holds a very good track record in IPL, winning several matches for the ultimate champions but selectors decided to keep India’s side for two-match series against Ireland similar to the ongoing series against South Africa apart from the change in captaincy from Rishabh Pant to Hardik Pandya.
Upon not finding his name in the list of Indian cricketers who will be representing India in two-match series against Ireland, Rahul Tewatia tweeted “expectations hurt”, and this tweet was enough to take social media by storm.
In IPL 2022 Tewatia scored 217 runs in 16 matches at a strike rate of 147.62. His supreme performance in the IPL 2022 got him the title of “Ice Man” from the legend Sunil Gavaskar. But this superior performance couldn’t get him a ticket to Ireland disappointing him to the core.
In the recently concluded IPL, he helped the newcomers, Gujarat Titans to deliver numerous final over chases showing nerves of steel. Thus he deserved a place on the team.
