In 2012, Achinta Sheuli began exercising weights after being motivated by his older brother Alok.
After his father passed away in 2014, Achinta’s older brother, Alok, stopped playing the sport and began working as a laborer to support the family.
In April 2014, Achinta Sheuli lost his laborer father Pratik. Alok, the eldest brother, recalled that Achinta wept because they lacked the funds to pay for their father’s funeral.
Achinta Sheuli is from Kolkata and was raised in Deulpur, which is two hours away from Howrah by bus.
