The former selector of the BCCI, MSK Prasad, reveals that the Indian Skipper Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri, the Indian team head coach overshadowed him. Prasad was the Indian Cricket Team’s chief selector until India’s semi-final exit against New Zealand in the world cup 2019.
He has been credited for bringing many young stars like Hardik Pandya and Risabh Pant to the Indian Team.
Prasad was said that he was too humble in front of Kohli and Shastri in a recent interaction. In reply, Prasad said that was a perception that he was humble in front of them. One cannot imagine how aggressive were Kohli and Shastri to any arguments, and how could one win arguments in front of two such aggressive personalities?
MSK Prasad said that he was often engaged in many arguments with the captain and the coach. But the matter of the fact was that they were professionals, and they understood that whatever they do is for the benefit of the team.
Prasad said that he was overhanded in the presence of the Kohli, the captain, and coach Ravi Shastri. The three had that sort of argument that after the meeting, they would not see each other face. But the next morning, they would meet and recognize the merit of the point made in the meeting. That’s the beauty of both of them.
Prasad is a management student, and he knows how to handle and manage people. However, he feels that people always blame someone publically. The team is like a family, and in every house, there are likes and dislikes. But still, no one has the right to blame anyone in public.
Kohli and Shastri had many heated debates. But nothing was made public, and they had no difference publically. Still, they have succumbed to them, and it took a lot of time to convince both of them on so many issues.
