Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed the mentors of the inaugural Pakistan Junior League today. The names which are confirmed by the Board are Daren Sammy, Javed Miandad, Shahid Afridi, and Shoaib Malik.
Pakistan Junior League will be contested in Lahore in October this year.
Javed Miandad who has played six world cups will mentor the league. The other players whose names have been declared by the Pakistan Cricket Board will mentor the team.
Announcing the names in the press conference PCB Chairman said “There is no batsman better than Miandad to supervise the league. We’ve selected three icon players for the PJL, Shahid Afridi, Shoaib Malik, and Darren Sammy. “
Collectively these four players share six major world titles: 1,559 international matches, 43,057 runs, and 992 wickets among them.
He further told that 30 companies were ready to own the six franchises that will be playing in the tournament.
The PJL will be the first T20 league that will be contested by under-19 teams with local as well as international players.
These matches will be played on a single league basis where every player will be allowed to avail the services of an iconic player to boost their confidence.
