NZ vs IRE 2nd ODI: Yesterday’s Match Result- New Zealand Won The Game To Go Up 2-0 In The Series.

With one game remaining in the three-match ODI series, New Zealand’s strong bowling effort held Ireland to 216 and helped the visitors wrap up the series.

For New Zealand, the winnings were split among Matt Henry, Jacob Duffy, Michael Bracewell, Mitchell Santner, and Glenn Phillips.

Mark Adair’s unbeaten 27 off 15 balls and George Dockrell counter-attacking 61-ball 74, which was his best score in ODI cricket, helped Ireland cross 200 on a Malahide pitch that favored both the seamers and spinners.

Then, Adair unleashed his full arsenal of shots, making his first two targets, Will Young and Martin Guptill, seem like duds.

The first ball yorked Guptill, and the next full nip-backer bowled Young.

Following their half-centuries, Finn Allen and Tom Latham ended the chase, but New Zealand still needed a cameo from Bracewell (42* off 40 balls) to seal the victory.

He once more accomplished it in style, hitting a six-over mid-on.

Allen, who often enjoys batting on the ball, had to restrain himself because Adair and company were also whirling the new ball about.

When he pushed Craig Young to the square-leg boundary after fetching a hip-high short ball from outside off while on 6 off 18 balls at one point, he found the opening.

In the ninth over, Allen hammered Adair for four consecutive boundaries after he went too far.

This included a six-over mid-off. Allen sprinted to his first ODI fifty in his second match, off 47 balls.

However, he toe-ended Curtis Campher to mid-on for 60 off 58 balls when he appeared to be in position for more.

A 101-run third-wicket partnership between him and Latham was broken by his demise.

The more cautious of the two, Latham frequently concealed his bat within the line when Ireland moved the ball away from him and hit through the line when the ball was in his arc.

Latham was put to the test by Simi Singh and Andy McBrine, and Simi was the one to bowl Latham out for 55 off 71 balls.

When setting up New Zealand with the ball, Bracewell coolly closed it out for them after Phillips chopped on for a run-a-ball 16.

In their combined 20 overs of bowling in the afternoon, Bracewell and Santner took 4 for 58.

The most economical ten-over stretch by a New Zealand spinner since Daniel Vettori’s 4 for 18 against Afghanistan in Napier during the 2015 World Cup was completed by Bracewell, who made the most of the grip, turn, and bounce that was available.
