No Pant, No Bumrah: IPL 2023 Loses Some Star Power

IPL 2023 is going to be played from March 31 in which the first match will be played between Chennai Super Kings and Gujrat Titans. However, before the start of this Mega IPL, many star cricketers are going to miss this IPL due to several circumstances.

Some IPL teams got hit by injuries while preparing for this high-octane T20 tournament. Let us know about the players who are going to miss this IPL.

Jasprit Bumrah

The Five Time IPL Winner Mumbai Indian will miss the service of Jasprit Bumrah because he underwent surgery and needs optimum rest before coming back to the field again. He will not be available for the whole season of 2023.

Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant will not be available for the whole IPL 2023 because he met with a serious car crash accident last year. He has to wait for several months to return to the field again and that’s why Delhi Capital will have to miss his service. In his absence, David Warner will lead the side.

Pat Cummins

The Australian Skipper Pat Cummins isn’t available for the upcoming IPL season because of his busy international schedule. He wants to take a rest to prepare for the upcoming World Cup.

Prasidh Krishna

Rajasthan Royals will also miss the service of their fast bowler Prasidh Krishna who will not be available for the whole IPL season because of a lumbar fracture, which required surgery. Rajasthan Royals will miss his presence because he has a huge impact on the bowling side of this franchise.

Steve Smith

From Steve Smith, and Pat Cummins, to Mitchell Starc, no one is available for IPL 2023 because of their busy international schedule. Steve Smith remains highly explosive this year in BBL but he has not even added his name to the IPL auction.

Kyle Jamieson

Kyle Jamieson, who is supposed to play for Chennai Super Kings will not be available for his service this year. Chennai picked this all-rounder calmly but he has to undergo surgery and he will not be available for the whole tournament.

Jhye Richardson

Mumbai has to face another blow because the Australian pace star Jhye Richardson will not be available for the whole season. Jhye Richardson has a good pace attack with some batting skills also. Unfortunately, he is not available for this season.

Apart from all these big players, there are also some players whose availability is in doubt. Some of those players are Shreyas Iyer, Josh Hazlewood, Sarfaraz Khan, and Anriche Nortje. These players have been injured recently and there is no news of the whole season.

Moreover, Jonny Bairstow and Liam Livingstone are recovering from the injury. There is no official news on when they will join the PBKS camp. Some other stars like Ben Stokes, and Joe Root can pull out their names early from the IPL to enhance their focus on Ashes.

Some of the Indian and Australian players can also cut short their campaigns because they would like to reach England for the World Test Championship Final.
