New Zealand Team Faces Covid-19 Crisis, 2 Players Covid-19 Positive

Amidst the excitement of IPL 2022 , bad news has come out for the New Zealand Cricket (NZ) team. Actually, the NZ team has to go on a tour of England, where they have to play the first Test with England from June 2. But before this, there has been a big crisis in the NZ team, three of their members have been hit by Corona. Due to which there is an atmosphere of concern in the team now.

NZ Team Members Became Corona Positive

Even before the NZ vs ENG Test match to be held in June, Corona’s shadow has started falling on the New Zealand team. Let us inform you that even before the Test match starting against England, 3 members of the NZ team have been hit by Corona. In a statement issued by NZ Cricket, it was told-

“On the morning of the first warm-up match against Sussex in Brighton, three team players tested positive for COVID-19. Those who have been kept separately.” 

These Three Members Became Corona Positive

Before the first Test against England starting on June 2, 3 members of the NZ team have already been affected by Corona, which includes 2 players and 1 bowling coach. Let us tell you that among these two players are top-order batsman Henry Nicholls and right-arm fast bowler Blair Tickner. At the same time, bowling coach Shane Jurgeson is also involved with them. These three members have been kept in isolation in the hotel itself for 5 days.

The four-day warm-up match will go ahead as scheduled, despite three NZ members being found corona positive. NZ will play a second warm-up match against County Select XI from 26 to 29 May, ahead of the Test match starting at Lord’s. After this, both the teams will play the second Test at Trent Bridge from June 10-14 for the second Test and then the third Test at Headingley from June 23-27.
