Cricket Australia has introduced some rules that need to be followed by everyone during the Big Bash League. The rules are made to enhance the sport and entertainment.
Rules and reason!!!
The introduction to new rules for the Big Bash League was supposed to gain a great response and significant competition this year. The rules introduced are named Power Surge, X-Factor Player, and Bash Boost to the BBL. As Cricket Australia has introduced some innovations for the game it is seen that the BBL might be taking a gamble with it.
It is claimed that AFL has been doing changes to encroach the marks and as per the rules, the game might be changed with the increase in scores and excitement. The main issue to be pointed is that how will these rules change the format- positively or negatively. According to Cricket Australia, the new rules will change the strategies of the game and it will be exciting to see how players and coaches change their mindset for the game.
The team scoring more in the first 10 overs will get an advantage. According to new rules, BBL will allow a substitute player. The power play has been split and according to the X-Factor Player rule, a sub can be called-in in the 10 overs of the first inning.
Trent Woodhill stated that the changes were important and the BBL officials are confident that the fans will love this new format.
BBL will start from 10th December 2020 and the schedule of the league is not fully disclosed yet. 21 matches out of 56 are been scheduled and announced. We need to wait for some time to know about the result of the changes made.
Change is the law of nature but will this change affect the game and strategy of the players? What is your opinion on this matter? Let us know and stay tuned with us for further details.
