New PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja talks about the revival of bilateral cricket between India and Pakistan

After taking over the chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board, Ramiz Raja in his first press conference talked about various aspects regarding cricket in Pakistan.

India and Pakistan met last in the ICC World Cup 2019 as the Men in Blue produced a dominating display to continue their winning streak in World Cups. Ramiz Raja told the journalist about the revival of India and Pakistan bilateral cricket, that we are not in a hurry, and it is impossible now.

The arch-rivals take on each other in the opening match of Group 2 on 24th October 2021 at Dubai. Indian team has dominated Pakistan winning all matches in World T20Is. “I know we will face more failures than success when we go on this path, but we have to do it if we are to become relevant in world cricket. Ramiz Raja was an integral part that won the 1992 World Cup under the captaincy of Imran Khan. He played a total of 255 international matches scoring 8764 runs from 1984 to 1997.

He was a successful commentator on various tournaments like 50 and T20 World Cups. Under the coaching of Misbabh UL Haq and Waqar Younis, Pakistan lost away series in Australia, New Zealand and England.

Pakistan would be looking to perform well in the upcoming World T20 starting from 23rd October. “It is a showstopper and when I met with the Pakistan team players I told them I want the tables to be turned this time and the team must be 100 percent operational for the match and to do well in it,” he said.

Ramiz Raja is the 36th chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board. Under the leadership of Babar Azam, Pakistan has not performed according to the expectations and would create a good in all formats of the game.
