The drill will be supervised by the strength and conditioning member of the BCCI and the National Cricket Academy (NCA).

According to the sources, players have been informed about the mandatory test and they are preparing for it. One of the BCCI officials told to Indian Express that the board is concerned about the fitness of players. The current standards of fitness have played a huge role in the success of cricket teams. But now it is necessary to take it to another level. And that’s what BCCI is planning to raise bars every year.

According to the proposed new drill, fast bowlers have to cover that 2 Km distance in 8 minutes 15 seconds. For Batsmen, spinners, and Wicket-keepers the time duration is 8 minutes 30 seconds. There is no change in the bar of the yo-yo test. It is the same as 17.1.

Additionally, it was reported that the tests will be carried out in February, June, and August/September.

Currently, the Indian team is relaxing their places and will be called for the trials at any time. After that great tour, the host is on cloud-nine. On the other hand, Joe Root led England has an uphill work to do.

Conclusion

Raising the bars from time to time is necessary. We have seen that earlier only the yo-yo test was mandatory to get selected but now the new drilling test is essential too.
