Match 30th of the IPL 2021 season has been postponed

IPL has been in crisis after many players have left the tournament midway along with the two umpires. Now the match number 30, which was about to play today between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore, has been postponed after Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrior were tested positive for COVID 19.

Varun Chakravarthy was the first who was infected through COVID 19. He went to the hospital to address the abdomen issue, and later, Sandeep Warrier was also infected by the virus as he might be was in contact with Chakravarthy. Now the whole KKR team is under quarantine in their hotel at Ahmedabad.

Both the players and the support staff are under seven days of quarantine, and they will stay in isolation until they get back to play on the field. The food is delivered outside their rooms, and the BCCI will test the KKR players regularly so that they can identify the players and treat them earliest as possible.

The Gujarat Cricket Association of Ahmedabad organizes today’s game. But because of this COVID issue, and BCCI has said that match number 30 will be rescheduled as the further date will be announced soon.

But to rearrange the match between RCB and KKR, the BCCI will have to change the whole schedule because KKR will play another game against Delhi Capitals at the same venue on 8th May 2021, and now it looks like that game will also be rescheduled to some other date.

Both the side have played seven games so far in the IPL 2021 season. RCB has won five of them, and they are placed in the third position with ten points, and KKR is placed in the seventh position because they had won just two matches from seven matches till now.
