MARCUS STOINIS PRAISES SHIKAR DHAWAN!!

Shreyash Iyer led Delhi Capitals has made to the final for the first time in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). In a second qualifier played last Sunday, Delhi beat Warner’s eleven by 17 runs to fix the seat in the finals. Marcus Stoinis believes that Delhi’s opener Shikar Dhawan is the major factor for the Capitals.

‘He has been a leader within the group’ says Stoinis

Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis believes that though Shreyas Iyer is leading the team Shikhar Dhawan has great influence over the team including Stoinis. Marcus Stoinis and Shikhar Dhawan are the part of same franchise Delhi Capitals.

Significantly, Delhi Capitals has beaten Sunrisers Hyderabad by 17 runs in the qualifier match played last Sunday. Shikhar smashed 78 runs in a must winning game for the Capitals. This made Delhi put a total of 189 runs on the match which proved a match-winning total for the Capitals.

Shikhar has been going through a fantastic season this year with the bat. Currently, he is on the second spot in a list of batsmen who have scored the highest runs. K L Rahul is leading the list with the highest runs. And Shikhar Dhawan with 603 runs in 16 matches is placed after Rahul. 

Shikhar has played crucial knocks in must winning games for Delhi Capitals. Shreyash has used Dhawan’s experience well in the tournament. Shikhar who is among the senior players of the team has helped Shreyash and his team with his experience he got by captaining Hyderabad before. Shreyash can be seen taking suggestions from Shikhar during the match.

Thus, Aussie star all-rounder praised him by saying that he is like a leader in his team and he has highly influenced the team members by his performance and his experience. Marcus Stoinis himself has a great season with the bat and the ball. He is playing for Delhi he told PTI.

When he was asked about the final match preparation against Mumbai Indians he said that there is no special preparation. They will stick to the basics as they are doing. Though Mumbai has beaten them thrice but this time they are confident that they will turn the tables.
