Lucknow Super Giants Losses A Star Player Before IPL 2022

Taskin Ahmed will not play for Lucknow SuperGiants (LSG) . Lucknow wanted to replace the Bangladesh fast bowler with England’s Mark Wood. In this situation, the new IPL franchise will have to find someone new to replace Wood.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has refused to allow Taskin to play in the IPL due to the tight international schedule. “We have two important series,” said Jalal Yunus, BCB’s chairman of cricket operations. “The national team is on a tour of South Africa. Then there is the series against India. In that sense, it is possible Taskin should not play in the IPL. “

The Lucknow franchise approached Taskin with an offer to play in the IPL. The BCB was also contacted for permission. “We talked to Taskin about it,” Yunus said. He understood the situation. Taskin has already informed the franchise that he will not play in the IPL this time. After playing a series against South Africa, he will rest in the country. Note that Bangladesh’s tour of South Africa will end on April 11. The IPL will start on March 26.

The Lucknow SuperGiants could use Zimbabwe pacer Blessing Mujarabani as Wood’s replacement. If Blessing is signed by Lucknow, then after 6 long years, any Zimbabwean cricketer will get a chance to play in IPL again. Brendon Taylor was the last cricketer from Zimbabwe to get a chance in the IPL.

He used to play for Sunrisers Hyderabad. He was dropped from the team by the Hyderabad franchise before 2015. A total of three cricketers from Zimbabwe have played in the IPL so far. Before Taylor, Tatenda Taibu played for Ray Price and Kolkata Knight Riders for Mumbai Indians.

Lucknow bought Wood for Rs 7.5 crore at auction. But the England fast bowler withdrew from the IPL due to an injury to his right elbow. After that, the new IPL franchise thought of taking Taskin as a replacement for Wood. Of course, the problem of Lokesh Rahul ‘s team does not end here.

Lucknow will also miss two West Indies cricketers Jason Holder, Kyle Meyers and Marcus Stoinis of Australia from the start of the IPL. Caribbean cricketers are busy playing series against England and Stoinis against Pakistan. Rahul will not get them in the first five matches of IPL.
