KEMAR ROACH AND SHANE DOWRICH TO HEAD HOME, WON’T PLAY SECOND TEST VS NEW ZEALAND

There have been two nail-biting fights between New Zealand and West Indies from November 20-22 and November 26-29 2020 on the two tour matches that those games were drawn.

However, when it came to the T20 series New Zealand waved the victory flag. The first test took place between Windies and New Zealand on the 3rd of December, but hours prior to the match everyone was down in the dumps as the famous and legendary cricketer Andrew Smith, the father of Kemar Roach, bid adieu to the world at his home.

This is how West Indies Cricket paid homage to Andrew,

Players to Fill in the Shoes!

On the account of this, it seems to be a no brainer that Kemar would not be joining the Men in Maroons for forthcoming matches. Kemar is going to spend some time with his family. Shane Dowrich, batsman and wicket-keeper, on the other hand, has also been ruled out of the team because he had an injury on his right-hand finger.

Moreover, he is said to go due to some ‘personal reasons’ as specified by the Windies team.

It goes without saying that Kemar Roach’s place must be filled by someone and it might be the right-arm fast bowler, Chemar Holder and as you would know, right-handed batsman, Joshua Da Silva, replaced Shane Dowrich in the upcoming tests.

West Indies Cricket confirmed it by tweeting,

Shimron Hetmyer too who is under concussion protocols and Keemo Paul who had a groin injury might also not play for the West Indies Team.

New Zealand’s wicket-keeper BJ Watling who suffered from a hamstring injury looks like to do an even sturdy comeback as he seemed confident saying when he performed a fitness test that pretty much full bat and full wicket keeping and the stuff he would need to do in a game.

Conclusion

After the two test matches which are yet to be played the West Indies tour will round off. Fans look up to Joshua to display a big game and lead the team to victory as West Indies have not won a match since the T20s. Josh is a quite good wicket-keeper too and has got eyes on him. Jason Holder was disappointed after the test and it appears, he would have to take two steps forward as he already took one step backward.
