The stellar performer of Rajasthan Royals, Jofra Archer, had an unfortunate injury that didn’t allow him to participate in the first half of the Indian Premier League 2021 season. Archer, the fast bowler of England, had returned to play the professional sport in the County Championship in 2021.
Archer would have returned to play for RR in the mid-season. But later, the reports revealed that the fast bowler would be out of the whole season, and then the postponement of this season means that Archer might be fit to play in the next half whenever it is resumed.
The IPL 2021 season was postponed due to the COVID 19 cases in the bio bubbles of the players and staff members. India is fighting this deadly virus, and the second wave of this virus has accounted for many deaths daily.
Archer returned to Sussex, which is his first-class team in the county championship. He played against Kent, and he also picked up two wickets on the first day of the match. However, after the day’s play, the pace bowler said he would have had to return home early if he had gone to India to play the IPL.
Now he hopes to get back in the camp of Rajasthan Royals whenever the IPL 2021 season is resumed, and he is unsure about the return of Ben Stokes against the two test match series against New Zealand. Stokes was also ruled out of this season because of his finger injury.
Jofra Archer feels the possibility of retaining his place in the Double R’s camp ahead of the mega auction of the IPL 2022 season. All the eight teams of the IPL have many several overseas star players. But they can retain them only when the next IPL 2022 season mega auction day arrives.
