Modern era bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah and Jofra Archer have admired West Indian legend, Brian Lara. The legend was so much admired that he said these two can perform in any era and could have been troubled by any batsman.

They can be counted as the best in any era!

Fast bowlers like Waqar Younis, Malcolm Marshall, Courtney Ambrose, Wasim Akram, Denis Lille, or Shoaib Ahktar have ruled the cricketing era over the years. After them, there was a question by whom they will get the comparison?

Brian Lara knows the answer and he thinks Jasprit Bumrah and Jofra Archer have the guts to rule the modern cricketing era and they are ruling it. 

Jasprit has been at the top of ICC one day rankings for bowlers. Jofra has recently made his debut so he needs some more time to grow and perform at his best. 

Jasprit Bumrah is the finest bowler in this era believes Lara. Jasprit is currently leading the purple cap race for most wickets in the Indian Premier League 2020. 

West Indian great Brian Lara is also a part of the commentator’s panel in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) and he has seen the exceptional performances from Bumrah and Archer. Mumbai Indian’s bowling coach Shane Bond has already said that the best is yet to come from Bumrah. He is the key factor for Mumbai’s road to playoff. 

Jofra Archer is doing the same job for his franchise Rajasthan Royals. Though Rajasthan has been ruled of the tournament his performances were extra-ordinary which we often see and expect from him. He joined Rajasthan Royals in 2018 and since then, he is the highest wicket-taker for his team with a cheap economy rate.

Both the bowlers have done a great job for their team and thus Brian Lara who is watching IPL very carefully has rated them as five-star bowlers. He said while speaking to Hindustan Times that with these skills Bumrah and Archer could be counted in any era whether it is the 80s, 90s, or 2000s. They are just phenomenal and can perform on any kind of wicket. He added in the last that he is not belittling any bowler from the past. He couldn’t stop himself from saying that he would have loved to face them.

Well, we agree with what Brian Lara says. The variation every bowler needs to perform at any wicket, has been acquired by both of them.
