JACQUES KALLIS SELECTED FOR BATTING CONSULTANT FOR ENGLAND CRICKET TEAM

On the 14th of January 2021 is the first test match between England and Sri Lanka. To dot the i’s and cross the t’s, the England Cricket Board ahead of its two Test-match series with the team Sri Lanka has appointed Jacques Kallis as the batting counsellor of the England Cricket Team. Jacques Kallis is the former cricketer and as well as former coach of the South Africa Cricket Team. He is considered one of the greatest Batsmen of South Africa.

Jacques Joins England Coaches!

The Wales and England Cricket Board collectively mentioned in a statement that seven coaches have been selected for the training of their players and they will be with the England Cricket Team in Sri Lanka and for the first time, Jacques Kallis is uniting with England as batting consultant.

One of the seven coaches is Jacques Kallis who will be a batting guide and the head coach is Chris Silverwood, fielding coach is Carl Hopkinson, bowling coach is Jon Lewis, spin bowling counsellor is Jeetan Patel, wicketkeeper advisor is James Foster, and the assistant coach is Paul Collingwood, shared this the England Cricket Board with a smiling picture of Jacques Kallis on the Twitter.

Jacques has coached his national team the previous year for the match with England Cricket Team.

The Test-match series between England and India begins on the 5th of February 2020 and it is not sure if Kallis will continue playing his role of consultant for England till then.

England won the three T20 International series against the team South Africa and the rest of the matches between them were postponed thanks to, Covid-19 outbreak. Now, speculations have been made that whether England would be able to tour Sri Lanka because a new strain of the deadly Covid-19 has been witnessed in the UK, and keeping this in mind the United Kingdom has also put a ban on the travel of other people to England, and it is also compelled to impose a stricter lockdown in the most affected parts of the country.

Jacques Kallis was appointed as the batting advisor on the 21st of December 2020. The first test between England and Sri Lanka commences on 14 January 2021 in Galle, Sri Lanka, and the following test will begin on the 22nd of January 2021.
